Mohammad Saiyedul Islam: The World Youth Festival - 2024 is going to start next March with youth representatives from the world in Sochi, Russia. About 95 young people from Bangladesh got the opportunity to participate in this global event and will present their country to the World. 20 thousand youth representatives from around 140 countries of the world are participating in this festival.

As part of the preparation, a preparatory meeting was held in the conference room of the Institution of Diploma Engineers (IDEB) in Kakrail, Dhaka, on Friday (February 9) afternoon. It is organized by the Bangladesh National Preparation Committee of the World Youth Festival and Russian House in Dhaka.

The Director of the Russian House in Bangladesh, Pavel Dvoichenkov, spoke as the chief guest at the event. Tarek Mahmud, the Chairman of the Bangladesh National Preparation Committee of the World Youth Festival, presided over the meeting. Apart from this, IDEB president AKM Hamid, IDEB's secretary for international relations Kamruzzaman Nayan, and Zia Uddin Haider, General Secretary of Bangladesh National Preparation Committee of World Youth Festival also spoke as a guest.

Director of Russian House, Pavel Dvoichenkov, said that the participants will be able to return from the festival with various kinds of education and further develop the country. Apart from this, I hope that the name of Bangladesh will be presented in a bigger way to the World through new ideas. At the same time, they will have the opportunity to know and see Russia, a unique country in history, tradition, and culture.

Bangladesh National Preparation Committee Chairman Tarek Mahmud said it is a great opportunity for those who are going to this event from Bangladesh. Through this event, they will get an opportunity to network internationally. Apart from this, when they mix with the international community, they will also understand where we are lagging! From that place, they can play a leading role in the development of our country.

Zia Uddin Haider, General Secretary of Bangladesh National Preparation Committee of World Youth Festival, said Russia is one of the friendly countries of Bangladesh. Young representatives from many countries of the world will come to this global event, where we can share our ideas, especially volunteering ideas. As a result, we will build our network with them. Moreover, through this event, there is an opportunity to travel to different places in Russia and gain new experiences.

The World Youth Festival will be held in Sochi, Russia from March 1 to 7. About 20,000 youth leaders from the fields of education, science, international cooperation, culture, voluntary work, charity work, sports, business, media, etc., will participate in this event among which 10,000 are foreign participants. The festival is going to be held in the country in 2024 according to the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin to increase international youth cooperation.
